1 Place set on back
1 Lift up set.
2 Place arms under shoulder straps
3 Remove twists from shoulder straps
4 Place mask neck strap around neck.
2 Secure the waist belt
1 Clip belt buckle together.
2 Adjust to comfortable tension by pulling both hip adjusters tabs forward.
3 Adjust the shoulder straps
1 Locate shoulder strap tabs under buckles.
2 Pull down evenly on straps ensuring approximately
2/3 of apparatus weight is carried on hips.
4 Dress the harness and equipment
1 Tuck all straps ends in.
2 Test DSU.
3 Ensure BA guide line is attached to D-ring on waist belt.
4 Remove tally tag.

1 Turn on the set
1 Reset the positive pressure mechanism to OFF by depressing the reset button.
2 Locate and open cylinder valve three half turns.
3 Listen for audible leaks.
4 Check cylinder pressure on gauge – minimum pressure 160 bar.
2 Fit the mask
1 Check lung demand regulator is secure in mask bayonet fitting.
2 Pull head harness from front of mask.
3 Slip head harness over head.
4 Ensure chin is located in mask, tighten bottom pair of straps evenly.
5 Tighten remaining straps evenly, middle pair then top.
6 Re-adjust mask so that it is comfortable on face.
3 Check face-mask seal
1 Take two or three breaths.
2 Hold your breath.
3 Listen for audible leaks.
4 If no air is flowing, a positive seal has been obtained.
4 Make low pressure test for correct whistle
pressure at 42 bar.
1 Close cylinder and leave hand on valve.
2 Continue breathing.
Note: only one or two breaths will be possible.
3 Check fall of guage pointer
4 Mask should be drawn onto face and remain there if no
air leaks are present. Hold breath for 4 seconds.
5 Open cylinder valve fully, then back 1/2 turn.
5 Check supplementary air supply
1 Depress centre of lung demand valve.
2 An audible flow of air should be heard and felt entering the mask.
3 Release centre of lung demand valve.
4 Continue to breath normally.
6 Fit the helmet
1 Extend head band.
2 Undo chin strap and extend.
3 Don helmet.
4 Re-couple and tighten chin strap.
5 Adjust head band.
1 Remove helmet
1 Undo chin strap.
2 Remove helmet from head.
2 Remove face-mask
1 Take a deep breath and hold breath until face-mask is removed. Activate positive pressure reset lever/button.
2 Undo head harness straps from bottom up.
3 Remove head harness from head.
4 Remove face from mask.
5 Place neck strap around neck.
3 Remove air from set
1 Close cylinder valve.
2 Lightly depress centre of lung demand valve.
